Our mission: To provide the most advanced fire & rescue service with the highest level of trained firefighters, committed to deliver that service to our citizens with the utmost loyalty and compassion.

A Word From Our Fire Chief

At Comstock Township Department of Fire & Rescue, we are dedicated to “taking care of those who depend on us.” We’ve embraced it as our motto. Our department is truly a community-oriented organization served by a dedicated staff of paid on-call and full-time personnel. There is a sense of pride and ownership for not only the department, but the community as a whole.

I would like to thank the men and women of the department for their hard work and dedication, as well as the elected officials, residents, and business owners for their continued support. I look forward to working alongside each of you as our department and community continue to grow. It really is an honor to serve as the Fire Chief.

Matthew Beauchamp
Fire Chief

Burn Permits

Burn permits are required for open burning of approved, unwanted non-hazardous materials (paper, brush, yard waste, etc.) where smoke and other emissions are released directly into the air.

These permits are free, but may be banned or restricted when weather conditions pose an increased risk of the development or spread of wildfires. The use of burn permits helps us protect homes, property, and our shared natural resources from preventable fire damage.

Firefighter’s Memorial

The Comstock Township Firefighter’s Memorial is dedicated to the men and women, past and present, who have selflessly sacrificed and served their communities honorably since the department began in 1924. The memorial is located at the site of the old Central Station at Comstock Ave and River Street.

Significant expansions and improvements are planned for the memorial, but we need your help! No public funds are used for this project, so we rely on generous contributions from the community. Community Risk Prevention

“Taking care of those who depend on us” means so much more than simply responding to calls and putting out fires. We’re committed to educating and engaging the community, and making Comstock Township a safer place to live, work, and play for all our residents, business owners, and guests.

From fire prevention education in Comstock schools to free distribution and installation of smoke alarms to fire safety inspections and CPR training, we’re out in the community every day living out our motto.
